Q3. Some people like being alone; others are happiest when they are with a crowd of people. Which do you prefer?
People have different views about having a crowd around you or being alone. Some are very independent and preferred to work things alone. While, I was the kind who cannot survive without someone’s accompany. I shall explain why.
Firstly, I feel terrible and terrified when being alone. I will feel that everyone is staring at me because I am a loner or think that I am alone because there is something bad about your character.
Secondly, when feeling down, there is someone to talk to or I will not recover. That is what friends are for. Being there for you when you are down, helping you to solve problems when there are troubles. I love crowds, the more the merrier. I feel a sense of security with more people. It is quite boring when going out with only one person.
Thirdly, you can share your comments about anything with your friend or any companion other than thinking or talking to yourself. Like watching a movie, most people are with someone. I don’t think you can enjoy watching the movie alone as much as watching with a companion. As there must be some comments you want to share with.
Being lonely is not a bad thing. You can learn to be independent and strong when doing things alone. You will learn to protect yourself in any circumstances and also get use to being alone and not be afraid when there is no one there for you.
But it is safer if someone is with you when you are going home late even if you are a very independent person.# With ♥, ✖SeReNe✖ | 10:07 PM

My Favorite Foods
I have a lot of favorite foods. Firstly, I love to all the spicy foods. Especially curry. But I prefer to eat curry cooked by my mother. It has different taste compared to curry that was sold outside. I love the spiciness with some sweetness in it. Especially when it covers the whole rice with no white part left. But of course I cannot tolerate it when it is too spicy. When my mother was not around to cook for my dinner, I would eat those Korean instant noodles. It is different from other instant noodles. The noodle is thick and has a very good mouth feel. Of course added with tom yam soup, it tastes superb. Other than spicy foods, my favorite fish is salmon with some teriyaki sauce on it. It is expensive though. What I like most is that it has fewer bones compared to other fishes. Talking about Japanese food, I also prefer Japanese white rice compared to the white rice we normally eat. It is very chewy. Well, I shall end here because if I go on it is going to be one whole page!# With ♥, ✖SeReNe✖ | 9:57 PM

Dear Mrs Sim,
It has been a long time since I last seen you. How are you? I am now in secondary four. It is rather fast. In the New Year 2008, I have experienced a lot of changes. Have you experienced any changes?
Firstly, some of my classmates have been transferred to normal academic. It was sad to lose some of my classmates. But what is done cannot be undone. Although they are not with us, sometimes they will come to our current classroom 4E5 to see us. After all, we are still friends.
Secondly, I have become the senior to the secondary ones, twos and threes. As a result, I am seated at the gallery with the rest of the secondary four express students. For the last three years I have been seated in the hall. It is good to have a feeling of being a senior. Even our classrooms are on the highest level though it is rather tiring to climb that high.
Thirdly, stress, is what I have not been experiencing after primary six. It is back to haunt me again. Because this is the graduating year, most of us are anxious about our results. Even teachers are anxious. You might have experienced it too, being a teacher once in our school. We have had extra lessons nearly everyday to about four to five in the afternoon and lots of homework that keep me occupied during weekends.
Lastly, we have had a change of teachers. Our secondary three form teacher is changed to Miss Goh. Miss Goh has showed lot of care for us. For any outing, she would plan it very nicely. So far, I think she is a rather wonderful form teacher. Miss Wong, Our previous POA teacher also left us. This year, we have Miss Sujeetha. She is quite strict and teaches us differently compared to Miss Wong. Then, it is the chemistry teacher. Last years’ it was Madam Tan who taught us while this year it is Mrs Tan whom I heard was a very experienced teacher. You might know it very well, right?
These are the changes I have experienced. Hope you will write back when you are free. Chinese New year is coming to an end, still wish a very Happy Chinese New Year!
Yours Truly,

My First Day of School in Secondary One 2005
In a blink of an eye, this is my fourth year in Kent Ridge Secondary School. Thinking about that fact is amazing.
When I was in Secondary One, everyone was so tiny. As I lived far from school, I did not really have friends. So I was hoping that I could see people that came from the same Primary School as me. Without anyone to rely on, it was rather frightening. I was so nervous. Nervous of not being able to make any friends and also having a fierce teacher.
I remember that after the assembly, there were students bigger than us, going towards all different classes. After that, I learn that they were the councillors. The name was rather new to us. In our Primary school, they were called prefect. The first thing we did was ice-breakers. Actually I do not remember most of the part about the games. But i remember one of the games we played was blow-wind-blow because i was made to sing a song. That was rather embarrassing. Actually when the councillors brought us around the school, i was shocked that the canteen wan on the third storey and also there is a lift! It was great to have lift. But then, I was told that it was not for use by students. But why?
While being made to introduce ourselves, i found out that there are two classmates that came from the same primary school. Going for recess on my own was most terrible. It was lonely. I bought a stick of donut holes and ate it alone at one of the canteen tables outside bookshop. But time pass so slowly. After finishing the donut, i had nothing to do.
Then it was lesson time. One by One the teachers came in. Most of the teachers made us introduce ourselves. Some played games with us. I remember Mr low our science teacher played a number game with us. The winner was given a sweet and was told to give it to a opposite sex. Just nice for the boy, his female cousin was in the same class as him. And therefore, he gave the sweet to his cousin. The teachers were mostly friendly, except that i do not really like making introductions.
Finding a CCA was a hassle for me. I did not go for the trials as i never thought it is were so important.
On the first day of school, an incident happened that helped me make a new friend. Because i was not told of my register number yet, once i found a seat, i just sat down. But when the teacher checked our register number, i was told that someone else and i had sat at the wrong seats and wanted us to swap places. This girl smiled at me and made me want to make friends with her. Now, we were also told to compose cheers and competes among other classes. It was fun but our class did not win. It was hard to think of new cheers. It needs a little teamwork.
We received a letter to parents to inform them that we were going for sec one orientation camp. I was not very happy about it because i do not like camps. It is tough to live somewhere other than our own home. After all, it was an interesting and memorable day.
